New Beach and Restaurant Complex to Open in Dubai
The new beach and restaurant complex J1 Beach opens in September.
The Jumeirah 1 area is nearing completion of a redevelopment that will replace La Mer with a resort complex called J1 Beach. The new beachfront area will feature 13 restaurants and several beach clubs. J1 Beach is scheduled to open in autumn 2024.
The opening of the French restaurant African Queen, the Lebanese fusion concept Almayass by the Sea, the exclusive beach complex Chouchou, the Mexican restaurant Gitano, the Spanish-Mediterranean Lúnico, and the Kaimana restaurant, specializing in Polynesian dishes with an Asian accent, have already been announced.
The resort will also be home to renowned beach clubs Sirene Beach by Gaia, Bâoli and Gigi Rigolatto. Also set to open are the gastro concept Sakhalin, fine dining restaurant Mūn and New York-style La Baia.
As previously announced, the five-star Gran Melia Dubai resort and Zuma Dubai Beachhouse will debut in Dubai, in the La Mer area, in 2025. The hotel will have access to the Port de La Mer marina and will offer 380 rooms with views of the sea and the city skyline.
The hotel will have easy access to the marina and will feature an event space with a capacity of over 1,000 people. The Gran Meliá Dubai Jumeirah is scheduled to open in the last quarter of 2025.
In turn, the Zuma Beach Club will be located on the first coastline, between Pearl Jumeirah and Jumeirah Bay. The 140-meter stretch of beach will feature a lounge and bar, a swimming pool overlooking the sea, and a DJ will entertain guests throughout the day. The beachfront establishment will be open for lunch, offering creative cocktails and an izakaya menu in a new setting.
