From 2 January 2025, students must show they have enough money to live on.

This includes accommodation costs.

  1. You will need to prove you have £1,483 per month if you study in London.
  2. You will need £1,136 per month if studying outside London.

 

For a one-year master’s programme, this means you will need:

  1. £13,347 for London
  2. £10,224 for elsewhere in the UK

 

This covers your living expenses for nine months.

New Rules for UK Skilled Workers

Skilled workers need to show they earn enough to live in the UK.

  1. You must prove you earn at least £38,700.
  2. You need a sponsor from a UK employer. This employer must be approved by the UK Home Office.
  3. If you don't have a sponsor, you must show you have enough money saved to support yourself.

UK Visa Fee Increases
