Action RPG Path of Exile just broke records for concurrent player count, recording its highest player count since its 2013 release, which appears to be largely due to the launch of a new expansion, Siege of the Atlas. Path of Exile was released about 9 years ago in 2013, although it had a beta version before that. Its concurrent player count reached around 32,000 players, a record it held for several years. Around 2017, Path of Exile has been continuously increasing its player count as new leagues appear.

On February 4th, the development team released the latest expansion, Siege of the Atlas, and with it came a new surge of players. In fact, that it broke Path of Exile's all-time concurrent player count on Steam after nearly ten years going. The record now stands at 158,882 players, surpassing the January 2021 record of 157,103 players. Because this may actually be Path of Exile's last chance to break the player count record, currently Path of Exile 2 is set to release later this year.
