Third Australia-England T20 abandoned due to rain

Needing 130 to gain from 12 overs, Australia were 30-3 from 3.5 overs when water forced the participants from the area for the 3rd and final time.

England chief Jos Buttler said his team was gathering well to the T20 World Glass,Cricketnews following winning the three-match series 2-0.

“We built the right steps in Pakistan and we got here [Australia] and extended that form,” Buttler said.

It had been a discouraging conclusion to the fit, the final formal game for both groups ahead of the World Glass, which starts on Oct 22.

Following being submitted by Australian chief Aaron Finch, Buttler created 65 from only 41 balls as England achieved 112-2 in their 12 overs.

Australia, already 2-0 down in the three-match series, then needed 130 to gain on the basis of the Duckworth-Lewis method.

And they got the worst possible begin when Chris Woakes had Finch and number 3 Mitchell Marsh caught with the initial two balls of the fit to stun the home side.

Then dismissed Glenn Maxwell in the 3rd over to leave the Australians in enormous trouble at 17-3, before water forced an early on end.

Finch early in the day won the toss and chose to area, with Australia getting out to the perfect begin themselves, as Josh Hazlewood had Alex Hales caught at first slide in just the 2nd over.

Buttler and Dawid Malan appeared comfortable and following a gradual begin begun to accelerate, but shortly after the initial water wait Malan miscued an attempted slog off Pat Cummins and was caught at mid-off by Marsh for 23.

Another water wait found the fit reduced to 12 overs each, and Buttler came out firing, shooting 22 runs off the 11th over to simply help set a complicated total.

Woakes'amazing opening cause built that goal impossible and an Australian beat were stored by the rain.

“It was difficult to prevent the [English batters] and credit in their mind, they outplayed us,” Finch said.
