Maybe if things were different right now, I’d be mad at Corey Kluber for pitching a gem against his former team. But as it is, in a meaningless September game for Cleveland, I guess I’m just happy that he’s happy Keith Hernandez Jersey. Am I happy that Zach Plesac was relieved by Nick Wittgren in a high-leverage situation and it predictably backfired? Not really. Is it a good thing that the Yankees had more home runs than Cleveland had total hits ? Not so much.But at least Corey Kluber got to pitch a solid six innings something he hasn’t done since he threw a no-hitter for New York back in May. The two-time Cy Young winner and 2016 playoff hero will always have a special place in my sports heart and I’ll always be rooting for him to have a good time out there. Don’t get me wrong, this is clearly not the vintage Corey Kluber that earned a pair of Cy Young Awards. That one no-hitter aside, he’s had a rough season with the Yankees.
