MT 2K21 does not reinvent the wheel using its next-gen edition. However, the developers used this chance to bring some more unique animations to the game. Including some new animations for alley-oops, which are extremely satisfying to pull off. Additionally, I felt like dribbling and ball movement proved only smoother overall when playing on Xbox Series X.
Among the more welcome adjustments in next-gen 2K21 is that the addition of the G League. But when coming from high school, players may choose to take the traditional route to the NBA and go to college, or input the G League. While faculty will offer the players with greater exposure and fans, the G League will help them enhance their skills faster, with increased progress on badges and skills.
More ways to become a NBA2K21 star
2K21 also fixes one of those frustrating issues I brought up in my review, as gamers can now change the camera angle in high school, college, and the G League. Despite some solid changes and additions, MyCareer nevertheless feels unbelievably grindy. VC is difficult to come by unless you ditch a part-time job's worth of hours into the game, or crack open your wallet. Players can now jump into The W, a style that lets them create their own WNBA celebrity. It is an wonderful piece of representation to an often ignored basketball league, although the mode isn't nearly as fleshed out as 2K21's other center modes. Composed of a lot of parks and areas, The City is almost a huge version of The Neighborhood. There is more courts, that can be fine, but the experts stop there. You still have to purchase a chunk for 25k VC simply to play with friends on a personal court, and the hosts are still really shoddy. NBA 2K21 on next-gen sees a lot of improvements into the basketball sim, but ironically only boosts the regions of the game that were really good.
Considering our overview of the first release of NBA 2K21, most my drawbacks are still present. MyCareer's story remains shallow, the internet servers are still aggressively mediocre, and microtransactions continue to be intrusive. When you add the fact that 2K didn't offer free updates for existing owners, forcing them to buy the $100 version or purchase it separately for $70, it is hard to say that Buy NBA 2K MT Coins on next-gen is your much-needed redemption for a continuously disappointing franchise.
