Amer port has situated a distance of 11km from Jaipur. The city was the settlement of the means, a tribal community of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh since 967CE. Later Raja Man Singh become the ruler of Amer and started rebuilding the fort. Raja Man Singh was the Navrantnas in the Mughal emperor Akbar's court. The work had been carried on by his descendants and completed by swami Jai Singh who later built Jaipur city. The Amer fort has been an opulent residence for the Rajput Maharajas and their family for a long. The fort is known for its exquisite Hindu Style element but also has an amalgamation of Hindu and Muslim Styles.

Suraj pal:
Suraj pal is the first gate and main entrance of the fort. The gate faces the east and witnesses the first rays of the sun every day. Hence the was aptly named Suraj pol or Sungate.In ancient times, these courtyards were the place the victorious returning armies would display their war spoils.
Ganesh Pol:
Ganesh pol is the main gate to the places and is indeed a sight to behold. A majestic and well-adorned gate, it has beautiful carvings and his paintings are done in natural color. The natural extracted from vegetables, flowers, spices, and stones. Most of the Rajasthani paintings are constructed using natural colors. The gate has a painting of Lord Ganesh is also constructed of these colors.
Temple of Sila Devi:
From the celeb Chowk, there was a flight of stairs that took us to the entrance of the Sila Devi temple. Sila Devi temple is known for the worship of shakti. It is said that the king always used prayers to the Devi before moving out for a battle.
Diwan-i-Aam:
This is a common assembly place of the palace. It is a raised platform in the center of the courtyard; a place where the kings would meet this subject and listen to their problems. The galleries have a capital in the shape of the element on the top.
Diwan-i-Khas:
This is one of the magnificent structures in the third courtyard. The beautiful structures consist of the Diwan-i-Khas or hall of the private audience and the sheesh mahal. The upper part of Diwan-i-Khas is called jas mandir and is full of intricate floral designs with glass of them.
Sheesh Mahal :
This is one of the most interesting and majestic parts of Amer port. The room is made of entirely small bits and pieces of glass forming beautiful designs. It is said, that only 2 candles are enough to illuminate the whole room even in the darkest of the night through the infinite reflection created in glass pieces. The reflection converts that small light into thousand of stars.
