Madden 23 is set to release on August 19. The game's ratings reveal will begin on Monday, July 18, previewing the best players in the new game. Madden's player ratings always draw great debate, but perhaps nothing is more controversial than those who are selected for the "99 Club." For those unfamiliar, Madden's 99 Club is the designation for the select few players with a perfect 99 overall rating.

EA adds several of the NFL's best active players to the 99 club every year. The list is ever-growing and changing. Trent Williams has become the first-ever offensive lineman in Madden history to become a 99 club member. So in this article, it'll be interesting seeing who else will join this elite club in Madden NFL 23. Here are our predictions for 99 OVR in Madden 23.

1. Aaron Rodgers (QB, Green Bay Packers)

Aaron Rodgers currently sits at a 95 overall in Madden 22. He's currently the third highest-rated quarterback in the game, although with Tom Brady retiring, he may very well be the second best-rated quarterback in Madden 23. As the league's MVP, it's possible he could also jump to the top-rated QB. Aaron Rodgers won his fourth MVP in 2022, the most in NFL history. Despite not being able to lead his team to a Super Bowl, Rodgers proved even at his age that he could be the best quarterback in the NFL. He wasn't featured in the 99 club in Madden 22, but it's hard to picture the 99 club in Madden 23 without the MVP.

2. Cooper Kupp (WR, Los Angeles Rams)

At the top of Brooks' list was the Los Angeles Rams superstar wide receiver Cooper Kupp, the reigning Offensive Player of the Year. Kupp had a historic 2021 season and would undoubtedly be a popular choice to be a cover athlete amongst NFL fans. In 2021 Kupp would haul in 145 receptions for 1,947 yards and 16 touchdowns in a dominant regular season. His playoff numbers were just as good, racking up 33 receptions for 478 yards and six touchdowns, as he would be named Super Bowl MVP following the Rams Super Bowl LVI victory. He didn't hit 99 overall in Madden 22, but Kupp will undoubtedly start the new Madden year with a 99 rating. He's one of the must-have players for your MUT victories, so prepare some coins in advance. If you don't have time to get them, we recommend you buy madden 23 mut coins from U4GM. Not only cheap but also safe.

3. Aaron Donald (DT, Los Angeles Rams)

The 31-year-old superstar's place in the 99 Club wasn't in much doubt. He's been the NFL's best defensive player for the better part of a decade since the Rams selected him with the 13th overall pick in the 2014 draft. The Pittsburgh native been named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2017, 2018 and 2020 and has earned six straight first-team All-Pro selections on top of numerous other accolades. While Kupp anchored the offense of the 2021 Super Bowl Champions, Aaron Donald anchored the unstoppable defense of the Rams. He was a 99 overall throughout Madden 22 and almost won his fourth DPOTY award this past season; if it weren't for a record-tying player, we'll discuss later.

4. Patrick Mahomes (QB, Kansas City Chiefs)

Patrick Mahomes has become a staple of the 99-club over the past few seasons in Madden. The former cover star is one of the most popular players in the league and one of the most talented QBs as well. In Madden, he's a popular choice for his ability to scramble and launch the ball deep and accurately downfield. Expect Mahomes to be in the 99-club once again in Madden 23 and one of the best players in the game.

5. TJ Watt (MLB, Pittsburgh Steelers)

Watt has been a game-changer on the defensive side of the ball since his rookie season. In fact, aside from year one, Watt has finished with at least 13 sacks each year. The pinnacle of his success came last season when he tied the all-time single-season sack record. He is currently on a streak of consecutive seasons in which he made the Pro Bowl and was named a first-team All-Pro selection at three. TJ Watt featured in last year's 99 club for the first time, and in the 21/22 season, he dominated NFL offenses. While the Steelers weren't able to make a run in the post-season, their defensive anchor will continue to thrive both in the next NFL season and for Steelers fans in Madden 23, likely as one of the 99-rated players.
