5052 aluminum alloy belongs to Al Mg alloy, which is widely used. Especially in the construction industry, it is the most promising alloy. Good corrosion resistance, excellent weldability, good cold workability and medium strength. The main alloy element of 5052 aluminum alloy is magnesium, which has good formability, corrosion resistance, weldability and medium strength. It is used to manufacture aircraft fuel tank, oil pipe, sheet metal parts of traffic vehicles and ships, instruments, street lamp supports and rivets, hardware products, outer shell of electrical appliances, etc.

 

5052 aluminum alloy is the most widely used antirust aluminum. This alloy has high strength, especially fatigue strength: high plasticity and corrosion resistance, can not be strengthened by heat treatment, good plasticity in semi cold work hardening, low plasticity in cold work hardening, good corrosion resistance, good weldability, poor machinability and polishing. It is mainly used for low load parts that require high plasticity and good weldability and work in liquid or gas medium, such as oil tank, gasoline or lubricating oil conduit, various liquid containers and other low load parts made by deep drawing: wire rod is used to make rivets.

 

Process performance

(1) formability

 

① The alloy has good plasticity in hot process. The forging and die forging temperature is 420 ~ 475 ° C, and the thermal deformation with deformation rate 80% is carried out within this temperature range.

 

② Its cold stamping performance is related to the alloy state. The cold stamping performance in annealing (o) state is good, followed by H32 and H34 state, and not good in H36 / h38 state.

 

(2) welding performance

 

① The alloy has good properties of gas welding, arc welding, resistance welding, spot welding and seam welding, and there is a tendency of crystal cracks during secondary argon arc welding. The brazing performance is good, but the soldering performance is poor.

 

② The strength and plasticity of the weld are high, and the weld strength reaches 90% ~ 95% of the strength of the base metal. However, the air tightness of the weld is not high. 5A03 alloy is recommended as solder, which can improve its air tightness and eliminate the tendency of cracks.

 

(3) machining performance

 

The machinability of the alloy in annealing state is not good, but it is improved in cold work hardening state.
