Most often, when buying a toilet, people focus on the type - floor or wall-hung - and the cost of the product. I will tell you what other parameters are worth paying attention to.

Toilet type
Floor-standing—This is the most common type when the device stands on the floor and the tank is attached to the bowl body. It can be attached or free-standing.

How to choose the right toilet: 9 parameters

Pros:

Easy to install, as you don’t have to destroy the wall or the integrity of the finish.
It can be installed near any wall, including an insufficiently strong interior partition or in a corner.
If any problems arise, they can be quickly fixed, since the toilet does not hide the communications.
The seat can withstand a load of up to 300 kg.

Cons:

It is inconvenient to wash the floor: the “leg” and the sewer pipe to which the toilet is connected create a “dead space” between it and the wall, inaccessible to the mop.
The height cannot be adjusted.
It has a significant length.

Suspended - this is when the bowl is attached to the wall and does not touch the floor. The mounting system of this toilet is called installation.

The installation is a metal frame, which, depending on the design, is attached to the floor and the wall or only to the floor. A drain tank with drain fittings and fittings that control its filling are attached to this frame.

Cold water is supplied to the tank, and a sewer outlet pipe is attached to a special bracket at the bottom of the frame. The installation can be attached to a strong supporting structure or integrated into a metal frame.

After installation, the frame is covered, for example, with plasterboard. Tiles or other decorative coverings are laid on it, and then the toilet bowl and flush button are attached to the frame through all these finishing layers.

From my observations, wall hung toilets are becoming more and more common in apartments and private homes.
