I was walking with a stream early the other morning and I saw a flash of brilliant blue along with a streak of golden orange from the corner of my attention as I disturbed a kingfisher from the feeding perch. There are few things more uplifting in everyday life than spotting a kingfisher and it is not just since they're relatively rare; it's more that there's something incredibly awesome about Nature's audacity at pitching such intense colors against one another on one small bird! And of course it makes sense radiantly superb!

So obviously, I thought about how exactly you could use this glorious combo for any wedding, having bright blue bridesmiad gowns and then include flowers of tropical orange within the bouquets to provide that flash of brilliance. Or you could even go a measure further, such as this clever bride from New Jersey, who had both kingfisher blue AND orange bridesmaid dresses, using the groomsmen wearing ties to complement.

Similarly, supply the groomsmen  matching ties and you are away!

Additional accessories for that girl all add towards the fun from the color scheme, so let your maids test out chiffon roses within their hair or as add-ons for their junior bridesmaid dresses.

And remember, the next time you're walking along a stretch of water, watch out for your most beautiful of British birds - I'm sure Kingfishers really are a sign of best of luck!
