I like the fact that we have these IPs with such stories, stories of time, any story of games that they are part of -- I consider that an asset. I do not see it as a problem. I believe that the capacity and the desire to create the new is also essential and we've proven we're able to do this with World of Warcraft , and we'll be proving it again in the near future.

A first-person shooter based on StarCraft appears to be The white whale for Blizzard. There was an announcement recently of a game that was a first-person shooter set in the StarCraft universe being canceled, and then of course, there was StarCraft Ghost. Are you sure that that is a concept you'd like to continue exploring?

I'm thinking one of the things I'd like you to know is that there has been some recent media coverage of games that we haven't made progress on, however internally it has been known that 50% of games we initiate actually launch.

Therefore, the fact that we're not seeing any progress on this or that game is a sign that Blizzard is running as normal. I'm pretty sure that in the majority of games we've launched haven't been released for the reason mentioned above and the vast majority of people don't recognize their names other than Blizzard. It doesn't really get lots of attention.

So this is just sort of the normal Blizzard being Blizzard sincerely, as we look at games and make decisions about what games will progress and what games are not likely to progress. I'm an avid StarCraft fan and therefore I am looking forward to the next games within that universe. However, I believe it's an integral part of the creative process. The creative process isn't linear. It's extremely tangled.

Fans would like to see additional StarCraft games. While I'm a huge StarCraft fan, also want more StarCraft games. Fans want additional World of Warcraft games. I'm a fanand would like to see more World of Warcraft games. Fans want new IPs, me too

When it first debuted, there weren't that many great MMOs available on consoles, however now we have World Of Warcraft V as well as a few other.
